Best time to visit

October to May

March to May is best for calm, clear water. Natural Bridge depends on the low tide.

What to wear

  • Light cotton clothes and swimwear. No heavy clothing.
  • Quick-dry tees and shorts, sandals or flip-flops, a hat and a light cover-up.
  • Water shoes for the reefs.
  • A long-sleeve light top for evening mosquitoes and the Cellular Jail light show.

  • Motion sickness tablets (hill roads, ferries and cruises)
  • A small day bag
  • Beaches: sunscreen (reef-safe where possible), after-sun lotion, a dry bag or waterproof phone pouch, a quick-dry towel.
  • Andaman: some cash in small notes (ATMs are limited on Havelock and Neil), insect repellent, ID for cruise check-in, seasick tablets before cruises.
  • June to September: rain jacket, quick-dry clothes and a waterproof bag. Expect possible schedule changes.
  • October to May: sun protection first (sunscreen, hat). Light rain gear for October, November, April and May.
